Omni Agent Skills: An Enterprise-Grade Analytics Toolset for AI Agents

Omni Agent Skills is an official set of skills by Omni Analytics for AI programming assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, and Snowflake Cortex Code. It helps AI agents understand and execute Omni Analytics workflows, covering model exploration, data querying, dashboard building, semantic modeling, AI optimization, and more. The project aims to enable AI agents to act like professional data analysts using the Omni platform.

Omni Analytics excels in BI with its semantic layer and strong data modeling, but AI agents struggle to operate it. Omni Agent Skills was created to bridge this gap—providing persistent, reusable skill modules (not just one-off prompts) that integrate controlled Omni workflows into agent environments, supporting multiple key scenarios.

The toolset includes 9 production-level skills (e.g., omni-model-explorer for model discovery, omni-query for natural language queries, omni-content-builder for dashboards, omni-ai-optimizer for model improvement) and 3 professional agents: omni-analyst (deep data analysis), omni-modeler (semantic modeling), omni-admin-agent (management tasks like permissions).

Installation varies by platform:

• Claude Code: Via plugin market or Git URL.
• Cursor: Add plugin via GitHub repo (auto-loads rules files).
• skills.sh compatible agents: Use npx skills commands to install (full set or single skills).
• Snowflake Cortex Code: Copy skills to .cortex/skills folder. Omni CLI setup: Install via curl script, then configure auth (interactive omni config init or env vars with OMNI_BASE_URL and OMNI_API_TOKEN).

Examples of using the skills:

• Natural language queries: Ask "show monthly revenue" to trigger omni-query.
• Model exploration: Use omni-model-explorer to list available themes.
• Semantic modeling: omni-model-builder adds new dimensions/metrics via YAML.
