[Introduction] Cognitive Sovereignty Framework: A Core Guide to Protecting Human Subjectivity in the AI Era
The Cognitive Sovereignty Framework (CSF) is a structured model for protecting human agency, reasoning ability, and decision-making authority in AI-enhanced systems. It aims to address the cognitive challenges and erosion risks brought by the deep integration of AI into human decision-making processes. Centered around three core dimensions—cognitive autonomy, cognitive authority, and cognitive integrity—the framework builds a three-layer architecture based on core principles such as human priority, transparency and interpretability, and controllability and intervenability. It provides practical pathways for individuals, system designers, and organizations to ensure that technological progress serves to enhance rather than replace human capabilities, safeguarding human subjectivity and dignity.
