llm-secure-cli: A High-Assurance LLM Command-Line Interaction Tool for Developers

llm-secure-cli (abbreviated as llsc) is a high-assurance command-line tool designed specifically for developers. It aims to provide a unified, stable, and secure LLM interaction experience, supporting all backends compatible with the OpenAI API specification (including official OpenAI, OpenRouter, Ollama local models, and LiteLLM proxies). It addresses pain points of existing LLM interaction tools such as single functionality, complex configuration, and lack of security considerations.

For developers, the command-line interface (CLI) remains the most efficient working environment. However, existing AI-assisted programming tools have issues like single functionality, complex configuration, or lack of security considerations. llsc was born to provide developers with a unified, stable, and secure LLM command-line interaction experience.

Fragmentation in the LLM ecosystem leads to differences in API formats, authentication methods, and response structures among different providers, requiring developers to maintain multiple sets of configurations. llsc provides a unified interface through an abstraction layer, handling backend differences internally; configurations are stored centrally and separated by environment, and sensitive information is injected via the operating system's keychain or environment variables to avoid the risk of hardcoded leaks.

llsc takes security as its core design goal: Input inspection can scan for sensitive information (such as passwords, keys) and issue warnings or block requests; output filtering supports content security policies; the audit log function saves interaction records (optional) and performs desensitization to meet enterprise compliance requirements.

llsc optimizes interaction details to improve cognitive efficiency: Context management supports independent conversation persistence; the template system covers common scenarios (code review, document generation, etc.), supporting custom templates and shell integration; streaming responses display generated content in real time, providing progress indicators and token counts.

llsc adopts an extensible architecture: The plugin mechanism allows third-party development of functional extensions; the scriptable interface supports non-interactive mode and can be integrated into shell scripts; it supports integration with editors like Vim, Emacs, and VS Code, and Language Server Protocol (LSP) support is in planning.

llsc provides first-class support for local LLMs like Ollama. Local deployment can protect sensitive data privacy (data does not leave the local machine), reduce costs (cut down cloud API fees), and support offline work, making it suitable for network-restricted or sensitive scenarios.
