AGI HER LLM: A Task-Agnostic Continuous Adaptive Training Framework for Large Language Models

The AGI_HER_LLM project proposes a task-agnostic continuous adaptive method for large language models. Through efficient benchmarking and algorithm optimization, it addresses issues like current models' knowledge solidification, traditional continuous learning's reliance on task-specific annotations, and catastrophic forgetting, exploring a new path for AGI development. This method requires no manual annotations or task-specific design; it autonomously learns and evolves from data streams, closer to human dynamic intelligence patterns.

The ultimate vision of AGI is to build an intelligent system that continuously learns and adapts to evolution. Current large language models are static, making it hard to absorb new information or adapt to new domains; traditional continuous learning relies on task-specific annotation fine-tuning, which is costly and prone to catastrophic forgetting. The core innovation of AGI_HER_LLM is task-agnostic continuous adaptation—no annotations or task design needed, enabling autonomous learning and evolution.

The 'HER' in the project name may refer to Human Experience Replay, drawing on reinforcement learning's experience replay mechanism to manage historical learning experiences. Task-agnostic continuous learning requires autonomous discovery of data structure changes, parameter updates without forgetting, and meta-learning capabilities. Core strategies include dynamic regularization (protecting key knowledge), progressive network expansion (allocating capacity for new knowledge), and uncertainty-based sample selection (prioritizing uncertain content).

It uses Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) techniques like LoRA or Adapter—freezing most parameters and adapting via a small number of trainable parameters. The modular architecture separates knowledge representation and reasoning, allowing independent knowledge base updates without affecting reasoning. Maintaining learning history metadata (knowledge stability, dependencies, etc.) to guide learning decisions forms the foundation of the system's 'self-awareness'.

A dedicated benchmarking framework is developed to quantify continuous learning performance, with evaluation dimensions including knowledge retention, adaptation speed, generalization performance, and computational efficiency.
