The official website of the Myanmar Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (BAIRI) is an open-source platform dedicated to promoting the development of AI research and applications in Myanmar. Its core mission is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and the local Myanmar community, focusing on AI infrastructure and resource support in the Myanmar language context. Through research showcases, open-source tools, educational resources, and community interactions, the project builds the Myanmar AI ecosystem and addresses challenges faced by local AI, such as scarce language resources and lack of tools.

The AI field in Myanmar faces unique challenges: mainstream AI models have insufficient support for the Myanmar language, and local researchers lack targeted resources; digital resources for the Myanmar language are scarce, with insufficient annotated data and processing tools, and the complex writing system increases processing difficulty. These issues restrict the development of AI in Myanmar, and the establishment of BAIRI aims to address these pain points.

To address the challenges of AI in Myanmar, BAIRI adopts multiple strategies: 1. Organize the community to collect and annotate Myanmar language text data; 2. Develop open-source Myanmar language processing tools; 3. Use transfer learning to train and open-source pre-trained models adapted to the Myanmar language; 4. Cultivate local AI talents through education and training, and expand community participation.

The BAIRI website uses a modern tech stack: the front end uses React.js/Next.js to ensure speed and responsiveness; styling uses Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap; hosting and deployment support GitHub Pages, Vercel, and Netlify, lowering the threshold for community contributions and reflecting open-source characteristics.

The BAIRI website includes four core functional modules: 1. Research Results Showcase: Publish academic papers, research projects, and application cases; 2. Open-source Tools and Resources: Provide GitHub repositories, pre-trained models, Myanmar language NLP datasets, and tutorials; 3.
